Croton, also called Variegated Laurel, (Codiaeum variegatum), colorful-leaved plant of the spurge family (Euphorbiaceae). One of the most eye-catching plants, with leaf colors of yellow, pink, red, and orange. Performs well in a sunny location and potting soil kept evenly moist. Bright light increases color variegation; low light diminishes it.
