Zamioculcas (ZZ Palm)

Also known as the ZZ Plant, it is characterized by its waxy green leaves above the surface of its potting mix, and its large potato-like rhizomes underneath.

• Light: Can tolerate lower indirect light, but can thrive in medium to bright indirect light. Happy with a minimum of six hours per day.
• Soil: Use a good quality light potting soil with good drainage.
• Humidity: Normal room humidity, but prefers high humidity 40-50%.  
• Water: Water every 2-3 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light. Signs that it is thirsty include wilting, wrinkled leaves, while wet mix or yellowing and mushy leaves signal overwatering and root rot.
• Temperature: Average temperatures, between 65-85F.
• Fertilizing: Every month with an all-purpose houseplant water soluble fertilizer.
